Gladys Lorraine Batchman

OBITUARY Gladys Lorraine Batchman of Chesterfield, MO, formerly of Robertsville, MO, departed this life in Chesterfield on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, having reached the age of eighty-seven years, five months and twenty-five days. Gladys was born in St. Louis, MO on August 24, 1937, daughter of Wendell Batchman and Lucy Batchman nee Wright. Gladys is survived by her sister, Vanessa and wife, Cecelia, of Detroit, MI; by five brothers, George Quinn of Detroit, MI, Jerry Quinn of Columbia, MO, Marvin Quinn of Detroit, MI, Martin Quinn of Detroit, MI and Joseph Quinn of Detroit, MI; by her sister-in-law, Linda Quinn of Detroit, MI; by her special friends, Carol Baur, who she had previously worked with, and Jeanette Whisenhunt; by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, Wendell Batchman and Lucy Quinn; by her husband, Isiah Pinnix, Sr.; by her father-in-law, George Quinn; and by three brothers, Glenn Quinn, Jesse Quinn and Dwight Quinn. Gladys was a Christian and member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Robertsville, MO. During her working career she was employed by Walmart in Union, MO as a department manager, from its opening in February of 1976 at its’ original location, to retiring in the late 1990’s. Gladys loved socializing with her friends and neighbors and being glamorous to celebrate special events. She loved to travel, go to the city to wrestling events and have and attend barbeques. Gladys was an animal lover and was especially fond of her pet dogs. What meant most to her was time spent with family and friends. The love and fellowship they shared together will be cherished by them all forever. A kind and loving sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and special friend and will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Friday, February 28, 2025 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Elder Shavar Ingram officiating. Interment will be in Crestview Memorial Park in St. Clair, MO. The family of Gladys Lorraine Batchman entrusted the care of their loved one to Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO.
