OBITUARY George Leo Rulo of St. Clair, MO departed this life at his home, surrounded by the love of his family, on Saturday, February 8, 2025, having reached the age of ninety-eight years and six months. George was born in Old Mines, MO on August 8, 1926, son of Leo Cleveland Rulo and Josephine Alice Rulo nee Yarbough. On September 9, 1947 he was united in marriage to Myrtle Juanita Washburn, known to all as Juanita, and seven children came to bless this union. George is survived by two sons, George W. Rulo and wife, Dora, of St. Clair, MO and Kenneth Rulo and significant other, Ruth, of Sullivan, MO; by two daughters, Opal Bull and husband, Ronald, of Sullivan, MO and Toni Gambill of St. Clair, MO; by one brother Charles Rulo of Arnold, MO; by forty-one grandchildren, seventy-eight great-grandchildren, sixty-five great-great-grandchildren, one great-great-great-grandchild, nieces, nephews, great, great-great- and great-great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. George was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Josephine Rulo; by his wife, Juanita Rulo; by three children, Gerry Rulo, Janet Smith and Phyllis Kindrick; by three brothers, Francis Boyer, Rolla Rulo, and William Rulo; by his sisters, Mary Courtoise, Ethel Speires, Margaret Roderique, Myrtle Tederick and Thresa Urbin; by four grandchildren, Gary Smith, Amy Howeshell, Jamie Howeshell and Chris Reed; by three great-grandchild, Macy Bull, Devin Yoder and Tessa Yoder; and by one great-great-grandson, Nikolai Schneider. George was a Christian, having been raised in the Pentecostal faith and had been attending Mercy Ministries in St. Clair, MO. He was proud to have served his country in the United States Navy during World War II, entering on December 9, 1943 and receiving his honorable discharge on June 1, 1945. During his working career he was employed by Edison Brothers in Union, MO as driver, at Maverick Tube in Union, MO as a production worker and finally retiring from Walmart in Sullivan, MO at the age of eighty-two. He enjoyed going fishing, hunting and cutting wood. What meant most to him was time spent with family and especially taking them to church. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will be cherished by them all forever. A kind and loving father, father-in-law, grandfather, great, great-great- and great-great-great- grandfather, uncle, great, great-great and great-great-great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Brother David Godat officiating. Interment with full military honors will be in Crestview Memorial Park in St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to the family.
