OBITUARY Fay Dianne Vazquez of St. Clair, MO, entered into eternal rest in St. Louis, MO, on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the age of sixty-three. She was born on October 27, 1961, in Griffin, GA, the cherished daughter of Alfred Eugene Smith and Bernice Jean (Maples) George. Fay began her life's journey with her soulmate, Deannie Lee Vazquez, with whom she shared more than thirty years of love before uniting in marriage on March 12, 2019. Fay is survived by her devoted wife, Deannie Vazquez of St. Clair, MO; her children, Wesley Whitfield of St. Clair, MO, and Whitney Whitfield and husband, Robert Menzel, of Dittmer, MO; Erica Killingsworth and husband, Bret, of Meansville, GA; John Diego of Springfield, MO; and Corriene Wiens of Fort Walton Beach, FL. She is also survived by her sisters, Tina Bradley of Griffin, GA, Kay Rice of Griffin, GA, and Tracey Smith of Griffin, GA; her grandchildren, Elijah Vazquez, Charleigh and Giuliana Menzel, Alexis McMichael, Makina Killingsworth, and Lincoln Vazquez; six step-grandchildren; one great-grandson, Jackson Steen; two sisters-in-law; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Alfred Smith, and by her sister, Patti Smith. Fay was a woman of faith and previously attended North Griffin Church in Griffin, GA. Throughout her career, she served others with compassion as a Certified Medical Technician at Victorian Place in St. Clair, MO, and dedicated nearly twenty years of service at Panasonic in Peachtree City, GA. With a joyful and generous spirit, Fay loved bringing people together. She enjoyed hosting gatherings, playing pool, bowling, and traveling, but what she treasured most was time spent with her family. The love she gave and the memories she created will live forever in the hearts of those who knew her. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, step-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, Fay will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO, with Fr. Pete Blake officiating. The family of Fay Dianne Vazquez is being served by Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO.
