OBITUARY Eston Daniel Vaughan, known to most as Daniel, of St. Clair, MO departed this life in Sullivan, MO on August 25, 2022, having reached the age of ninety-three years, seven months and five days. Daniel was born in Meta, MO on January 20, 1929, son of George Ray Vaughan and Retha may Vaughan nee Pendleton. On October 24, 1953 he was united in marriage to May Agnes Lee and two children came to bless this union. Daniel is survived by his son, Dale Lee Vaughan and wife, Verdean, of St. Clair, MO; by his sister, Lorene Hayes of Springfield, MO; by his brother-in-law, Basie Lee and wife, Delores, of Rolla, MO; by his grandchildren, Lee Vaughan and wife, Valerie, of Athens, AL, Daleesa Curet and husband, Stephen, of Wildwood, MO, Jerrell Vaughan and wife, Allie, of St. Clair, MO, Jennie Hills and husband, Aaron, of DeSoto, MO and Sara Lucas and husband, Reid, of Festus, MO; by his great-grandchildren, Callan, Berit, Boyd, Sterling, Grayson, Jett, Violet, Winifred and Eleanor; by nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, George and Retha Vaughan; by his wife, May Vaughan; by his daughter, Dorothy Danette Duckworth; by his brother, George Vaughan; and by two sisters, Jerleen Ricker and Goldie Champlain. Daniel was a Christian, being raised in the Baptist faith and believing in the Lord as his Savior. He was proud to have served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, entering on February 5, 1951 and receiving his honorable discharge on January 29, 1953, after having attained the rank of SGT. He then went on to employment at Cupples Products as a painter, retiring after over thirty years of service to the company. He enjoyed going fishing and hunting and riding his golf cart. Daniel also enjoyed whittling and would make canes. What meant most to him was time spent with family. The love they shared and precious memories they created will be forever cherished by them all. A kind and loving father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great and great-great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him. Interment with full military honors will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Capps Cemetery in Tuscumbia, MO.
