Obituary

OBITUARY Emily Lucille Dennis of St. Clair, MO departed this life at her home, surrounded by the love of her family, on January 30, 2022, having reached the age of seventy-six years, one month and six days. Emily was born on December 24, 1945, daughter of Percy Gladwin Dickinson and Mildred Ester Dickinson nee Friend. As a young woman she was united in marriage and blessed to have six children. On July 6, 1998 she was united in marriage to Billy Eugene Dennis, known to all as Bill, and he loved her children as his own. Emily is survived by her husband, Bill Dennis of St. Clair, MO; by two sons, Tom Moss and fiancé, Deanna Frioli, of Union, MO and David Moss of St. Louis, MO; by her daughters, Theresa Fink and husband, Art, of Gerald, MO and Angie Hinson and husband, Dan, of St. Clair, MO; by her sisters, Dixie Tyree of St. Clair, MO, Crystal DeClue of Union, MO and Debbra Dickinson of St. Clair, MO; by her sisters-in-law, Shirley Dickinson of Lonedell, MO and Thelma Dickinson of Troy, MO; by seventeen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Emily was preceded in death by her parents, Percy and Mildred Dickinson; by two sons, Kevin Moss and Raymond DeClue, Jr., known to all as Sonny; and by her brothers, James Dickinson, Perry Dickinson and Percy E. Dickinson. Emily was a Christian, having been raised in the Baptist faith and believing in the Lord as her Savior. During her working career she was employed by Daimler-Chrysler Corporation in St. Louis, MO as an assembly line worker for about seventeen years. She was also a proud member of United Auto Workers Local 110 in St. Louis, MO. Emily loved going to yard sales and auctions and couldn't hardly pass up a deal. She also enjoyed travelling, quilting and going to her grandchildren's sporting events. What meant most to her was time spent with family. Her children and grandchildren held a very special place in her heart, as she did in theirs. The love they shared and many precious memories they created together will be cherished by them all forever. A kind and loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM Monday, February 7, 2022 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Rev. Jay Tilson officiating. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery in Grubville, MO. Memorials may be made to Fairview Cemetery.
