OBITUARY Douglas MacArthur McCray was born to the proud parents of McKinley and Allie McCray on September 22, 1942 in Monticello ~ Crossett, Arkansas. He graduated Tillis High School in the Arkansas Public School District. He later worked for Ford Motor Company in Hazelwood, MO from 1966 to its closure in 2006. Douglas met the love of his life, Thelma, in 1995 through a mutual friend. They quickly knew they were soul mates and were eager to start their new lives together. The two were united in marriage on May 25, 1996. Douglas was an active member of The Lighthouse Baptist Church, devoting his time and energy to spreading the word of God. God blessed Douglas with many talents. He was a natural at singing for the Lord, cooking, gardening, fixing cars and mentoring others. He was open-minded, persistent and stayed committed to any task given. He was very charismatic, loved by many and always caring, compassionate and understanding. Douglas will always be remembered for his honesty and the way that he always put God first in every situation. He would regularly say "If God is not in it, it's not going to work". To celebrate his life and cherish his memories, Douglas leaves his wife, Thelma. Children - Unita (Thomas) Turner, Tina (Darryl) Leatherberry, Jacqueline (Darryl) Scott, Quentin (Donna) McCray, Melissa Conteh and Gregory Mayberry Brother - James "Howard" (Lois) McCray Grandchildren - Prentis, Shatona, Ebony, Clarissa, Demetrius, Arion, Eric, Chelsy, Antonio, Antionette, Shativa, I'Eisha, Marquis, Darricka, Tearicka, Darol Jr., Darryl, Jr., Jalessa, DeeNesha, Alexia, Gregory Jr., Devontray, JaNeshay, Destin, Jaiden, Ryann, Mackenzie, Christian Tobias, Alieu, and Yadicol Great-grandchildren - Prentis, Jr., Taviana, Montez, Ma'Kayla, Maliek, Evan, Landon, Jordon, Kia, Jeremiah, Jaylon, Jamyah, Jania, Barbara, Chadrick, Shania, Maya, Jaden, Dasia, Hyland, Alexa, Donavin, Alexander, Gabrielle, Carmelita, Damorrion, Dakorrion, Serenity, Draya, Darrion and Dakota Nieces/Nephews - Helen, Susan, Linda, Cheryl, Yvonne, Tresha, Junior, Marcus, and Michael A host of friends and other relatives We couldn't have asked for a better spouse, parent and grandparent, and will miss Douglas every day. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him.
