Obituary

OBITUARY Donald Joe Hall of St. Clair, MO departed this life in Sullivan, MO on Saturday, February 8, 2025, having reached the age of eighty-nine years, three months and twenty-five days. Donald was born in Sikeston, MO on October 14, 1935, son of Adlai Truman Hall and Beulah Irene Hall nee Powers. He married his high school sweetheart, Clara June Wilkerson, on November 22, 1956 and one son came to bless this union. Donald is survived by his wife, Clara Wilkerson-Peele of St. Clair, MO; by his son, Daniel Hall and wife, Jill, of Washington, MO; by one brother, Fred Hall and wife, Janice, of Buffalo, MO; by his grandchildren, Chase Hall of Washington, MO and Jessica Cody and husband, Dylan, of Springfield, MO; by his great-grandson, Ezra Owen Cody; by three nieces, cousins and many friends. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Adlai and Beulah Hall; by two brothers, Jack Hall and Gene Hall; and by his sister, Sue Dampier. Donald was a Christian and member of Villa ridge Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1958 to 1960 in Germany in the 2nd Armored Division and completed his obligation in the United States Army Reserve until 1964. During his working career he worked in the propane industry for various companies from 1962 through 1988, and was employed by National Propane, based in Cedar Rapids, IA as National Sales Manager for many years, traveling all over the country. Donald was a Third Degree Mason and was a member of the St. Clair and Union Masonic lodges. He enjoyed wood carving, belonging to three woodcarving clubs. Donald belonged to a Beekeeping Association and was helpful in Daniel's beekeeping business. What meant most to him was time spent with family. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will be cherished by them all forever. A kind and loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM Friday, February 14, 2025 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Pastor Mike Wilson officiating. Interment will be in St. Peters UCC Cemetery in Washington, MO. Memorials may be made to Franklin County Humane Society or Villa Ridge Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
