Obituary

Dolores Marie Moore, known to all as Dee, of St. Clair, MO departed this life peacefully at her home, surrounded by the love of her family, on Thursday, January 4, 2024, having reached the age of eighty-four years, three months and twenty-eight days. Dolores was born in St. Louis, MO on September 7, 1939, daughter of Thomas Henry Bauer and Cecelia Marie Bauer nee Krammer. She spent most of her childhood helping to care for her four younger sisters. On October 1, 1957 she was united in marriage to John Clinton Sheridan and five children came to bless this union. In 1973 due to a devastating tragedy, Dee and John lost their two oldest daughters and years later in 1982 she would lose her husband John. Dee was fortunate enough to find love again and on April 18, 1991 she was united in marriage to Franklin Joseph Moore, known to all as Skip. Dee is survived by her husband, Skip Moore of St. Clair, MO; by her daughter, Karol Dierker and husband, Keith, of Grubville, MO; by two sisters, Diane Cain and husband, Jim, of Hillsboro, MO and Joy Vos and husband, Rod, of Union, MO; by four step-children, William Moore and wife, Julie, of St. Clair, MO, Terri Price and husband, John, of St. Clair, MO, Shelly Hinek and husband, John of San Diego, CA and Frank Morre of St. Clair, MO; by five grandchildren, Jennifer Udina and husband, Kevin, of St. Clair, MO, Jessica Marler and husband, Ryan, of St. Clair, MO, Adam Dierker and wife, Tera, of St. Clair, MO, Ernie Byrne of St. Clair, MO and Kylie Byrne of St. Clair, MO; by seven step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, ten step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Dee was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Bauer and Cecelia Jamison; by her first husband, John Sheridan; by two sisters, Laura Bodine and Marlene Shelton; and by her four beloved children, Dawn Sheridan, Darla Sheridan, John Sheridan and Shannon Byrne. Dee was a Christian of the Catholic faith and believed in the Lord as her Savior. Her faith helped her get through terrible tragedies in her life. She had many jobs throughout her life, but many remember her from her movie rental business, Dee's Video. Dee enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life including trail riding and showing horses, breeding and spending time with her Boston Terriers and camping. Dee also enjoyed attending the Muny Opera, going to craft shows with her daughter and granddaughters and baking. What meant most to her was her family and the time they spent together and the Sunday dinners at her house every week will forever by cherished by them all. She was an exceptionally strong and kind woman, devoted wife, loving mother, step-mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend. Dee will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her. Memorial visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. John Pursley officiating. A private committal will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family c/o Russell Colonial Funeral Home.
