OBITUARY Dennis Ray Diesel of Sullivan, MO departed this life in St. Louis, MO on September 13, 2022, having reached the age of seventy-seven years six months and twenty-eight days. Dennis was born on February 16, 1945, son of Elmer Diesel and Dorothy Cage nee Kirsteine. As a young man Dennis was blessed to have three children. Dennis is survived by his two daughters, Tracy Moss and husband, Brian, of Pacific, MO and Brenda Hawken and husband, Charles, of Eldon, MO; by three grandchildren, Joseph Hawken and wife, Brandi, of Tuscumbia, MO, Joshua Hawken of Eldon, MO and Destiny Sechrest and husband, Raymond, of Brumley, MO; by a great-granddaughter, Alena Hawken of Tuscumbia, MO; by two brothers, Danny Diesel and wife, Judy, of St. Clair, MO and David Diesel of New Mexico; by a sister, Diana Diesel of St. Clair, MO; by nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Dennis is preceded in passing by his parents, Elmer and Dorothy Cage; by his son Allen Diesel; by 2 brothers, Doug Diesel and Donald Diesel; by a sister, Donna Wilson. Dennis was a Christian, being raised in the Catholic faith and believing in the Lord as his Savior. During his working career he was a proud member of the Iron Workers Local 396 with many years of service. Dennis loved anything outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, trapping, riding horses and shooting guns. He also enjoyed taxidermy and welding. Dennis was very creative and artistic and enjoyed making and creating various projects. When he wasn't spending time outdoors, he liked to read and watch westerns. His favorite author was Louie L'amour and his favorite actor was John Wayne. What meant most to Dennis was the memories made and time spent with family and friends. A kind and loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, great and great-great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him. A private committal will take place at a later date. The family of Dennis Ray Diesel was served by Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO.
