OBITUARY Dennis Michael Coons of St. Clair, MO departed this life in Sullivan, MO on November 27, 2021, having reached the age of seventy-nine years, eleven months and thirty days. Dennis was born in Maplewood, MO on November 28, 1941, son of Wesley Earl Coons and Dolores Ann Coons nee Helfrich. On January 11, 1962 he was united in marriage to Darlene June Sieg and two children came to bless this union. Dennis is survived by his wife, Darlene Coons, of St. Clair, MO; by his son, Dennis Robert Coons and wife, Amelia, of Camdenton, MO; by his daughter, Deana Juergens and husband, Robert, of Grubville, MO; by three brothers, Bill Coons and wife, Janet, of Washington, MO, Jack Coons of Malden, MO and George Coons and wife, Lana, of Jonesboro, AR; by one sister, Shirley Canan of Louisville, KY; by his sister-in-law, Elizabeth Coons, of Louisiana, MO; by his grandchildren, Stephanie Juergens of Brooklyn, NY, Ryan Juergens of St. Charles, MO, Alexander Coons of Camdenton and Brandon Coons of Camdenton; by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Dolores Coons; by one brother, James Coons; and by three sisters, Dolores York, Dorothy Marcum and Ruth Hood. Dennis was a Christian and member of St. John United Church of Christ in St. Clair, MO. For most of his working career he was a sales representative for Wonder Bread Company, retiring after thirty years of service to the company. Dennis was a proud member of Teamsters Local 688, serving as shop steward. He was a member of Gray Summit Masonic Lodge #173 in Gray Summit, MO, St. Clair Elks Lodge 2651, Lions Club of St. Clair, MO and Kiwanis Club of St. Clair, MO. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing and travelling. He also used to coach little league baseball and softball. What meant most to him was time spent with family. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will be cherished by them all forever. A kind and loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, December 10, 2021 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Pastor Laura Mignerone officiating. Interment was in Midlawn Memorial Gardens in Union, MO. Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
