Obituary

OBITUARY Debra Kay Lewis, known to all as Debbie, of Union, MO departed this life in Town & Country, MO on Sunday, November 5, 2023, having reached the age of sixty-six years, eleven months and sixteen days. Debbie was born in Wadena, MN on November 21, 1956, daughter of Donald Ray Hoffmann and Betty Mae Hoffmann nee Taylor. On April 9, 1977 she was united in marriage to Larry Dale Lewis and three children came to bless this union. Debbie is survived by her husband, Larry Lewis of Union, MO; by her children, Jeremy Lewis and wife, Marjorie, of Eureka, MO, Jamie Bacon and husband, Timothy, of Eureka, MO and Brandon Lewis and wife, Rebecca, of Troy, MO; by her brother, Daniel Hoffmann and wife, Kathy, of Ellington, MO; by her sisters, Joyce Lewis and husband, Perry, of Ellington, MO and Jeanette Davis and significant other, Jeff Lee, of Dittmer, MO; by her grandchildren, Madison and Blake Lewis, Caleb Ham and Collin and Dylan Lewis; by her mother-in-law, Barbara Lewis; by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Betty Hoffmann; by her father-in-law, Donnel Lewis and by two grandchildren, Drew Michael and Kaitlynn Renae. Debbie was a Christian of the Baptist faith and believed in the Lord as her Savior. She made caring for her home and family her job in life and never tired of it. She enjoyed going to craft shows and going shopping. Debbie also enjoyed going on her weekend trips, sitting and talking with her friends and going out to eat, especially to Red Lobster. She loved playing the piano and her favorite song to play was Amazing Grace. What truly meant most to her was time spent with family. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will be cherished by them all forever. A kind and loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM Friday, November 10, 2023 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Pastor Richie Rhea officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Lonedell, MO. Memorials may be made to the American Liver Foundation or the American Kidney Foundation.
