OBITUARY David Henry George of Lonedell, MO departed this life in Washington, MO on Thursday, August 24, 2023, having reached the age of seventy-eight years, six months and seventeen days. David was born in St. Louis, MO on February 7, 1945, son of Anthony George and Annie George nee Otten. On February 14, 1966 he was united in marriage to Lucy Howell Garlock and five children came to bless this union. David is survived by his wife, Lucy George of Lonedell, MO; by four children, Lee P. George and wife, Mary, of Plainview, TX, Tavis George and wife, Jeannie, of St. Clair, MO, MacLain George of Lonedell, MO and Stephanie Skiles of Ellisville, MO; by his son-in-law, John Todd of New Castle, DE; by his sister-in-law, Chris George of FL; by his grandchildren, Heather Calderon, Anthony George and wife, Alice, Jacqulyn George and fiancé, Abran Avila, Lee Todd, Elizabeth Todd, Ian George, Szandor Parker and Katelyn Skiles; by his great-granddaughter, Lucy George; by nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. David was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Annie George; by one daughter, Carmen Todd; by his daughter-in-law, Jessica George; and by his brother, Dennis George. David was a graduate of O'Fallon High School in St. Louis, MO where he was a star on the football and polevaulting team. He had a passion for body building and was named Mr. Missouri at the age of sixteen. David started out his working career as a welder and then a hairdresser. He built and owned American Fitness Center in Ballwin, MO. David spent forty-five years as president of Aqua Pools in St. Clair, MO before his retirement. Working was a vital part of David's life but what meant most to him was time spent with family. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will forever be cherished by them all. A kind and loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, great and great-great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
