OBITUARY David Marshall Clement of St. Clair, MO departed this life in Union, MO on September 15, 2022, having reached the age of seventy-four years, ten months and twenty-two days. David was born in St. Louis, MO on October 24, 1947, son of Edward Clement and Izora Catherine Clement nee Budde. As a young man he was united in marriage and blessed to have one son. David is survived by his son, Steven Clement and wife, Krystal, of Tuscola, TX; by his sister, Pat Diamond of Mesa, AZ; by his grandchildren, Tessa and Terra Clement, both of Tuscola, TX; by his nieces, Teresa Rarick and husband, Gordon, of Hayes, VA, Lori Jones of Granite City, IL and Kerry Clement of St. Louis, MO; by great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. David was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Izora Clement; by his brother, Earl Clement; and by one niece, Tracy Hooker. He was proud to have served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, entering on April 2, 1968 and receiving his honorable discharge on March 16, 1970. He then went on to enlist in the Missouri Army National Guard for many years until his retirement. During his working career he worked as a machine operator for various factories. David was a member of American Legion Post 347 in St. Clair, MO, VFW Post 2482 in St. Clair and Elks Lodge 2651 in St. Clair; He was an active member in the American Legion, serving as a financial officer, helping out at legion functions and helping veterans. You could say the American Legion was his second family. David also enjoyed working on computers. What meant most to him was time spent with his family. The loved they shared and many precious memories they created will be cherished by them all forever. A kind and loving father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him. An American Legion Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO. Interment with full military honors will be at Crestview Memorial Park in St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to American Legion Post 347 in St. Clair, MO.
