Daniel Edward Friend of Luebbering, MO departed this life at his home, on Sunday, November 26, 2023, having reached the age of fifty-two years, eleven months and ten days. Daniel was born in St. Louis, MO on December 16, 1970, son of Harold Clifford Friend, Sr., known to all as Bud, and Marlene Dorothy Friend nee Caselle. As a young man he was united in marriage and blessed to have one son. Daniel is survived by his son, Buddy Friend and girlfriend, Jackie, of Mehlville, MO; by his father, Bud Friend, Sr. and wife, Joan, of Luebbering, MO; by his sisters, Denise Powers and husband, Mike, of St. Clair, MO, Jeanie Corwin of St. Clair, MO, Deanna McPherson and husband, Kevin, of St. Clair, MO and Chrissy Friend of Lonedell, MO; by his step-sister, Kelly Pfeiffer and husband, Fred, of St. Clair, MO; by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Daniel was preceded in death by his mother, Marlene Friend; by his brother, Harold "Buddy" Friend, Jr.; by his Grandparents Clifford and Hazel Friend and Edward and Mardell Tallis; and by his Nephew Michael Conway Powers Jr. During his working career he was employed by Mayflower moving company then Steelweld in St. Clair, MO as a painter for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and working on old cars and engines. In his younger years Daniel loved riding dirt bikes. He was especially fond of his dog, Hatchi. What meant most to him was time spent with family and friends. The love and fellowship they enjoyed together will be cherished by them all forever. A kind and loving father, son, brother, brother-in-law, step-brother, nephew, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, December 1, 2023 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Rev. John Pursley officiating. Interment will be in Luebbering Citizens Cemetery in Luebbering, MO. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
