OBITUARY Charlotte Eleanor Hagedorn of St. Clair, MO departed this life in St. Clair on December 30, 2021, having reached the age of eighty-one years, seven months and one day. Charlotte was born in Sullivan, MO on May 29, 1940, daughter of Luke Albert Vogelgesang and Willetta Marie Vogelgesang nee Boettiger. On May 27, 1961 she was united in marriage to Virgil Henry Hagedorn and four children came to bless this union. Charlotte is survived by her children, Larry Hagedorn and wife, Donna, of St. Clair, MO, Brian Hagedorn and wife, Janet, of Washington, MO, Charlene Austell and husband, Mike, of Lee's Summit, MO and Jayme Janes and husband, Justin, of Lonedell, MO; by her brothers, Leonard Vogelgesang and wife, Sheila, of Villa Ridge, MO, Ben Vogelgesang and wife, Martha, of Richmond, VA, John Vogelgesang and wife, Ida, of St. Clair, MO and Eugene Vogelgesang and wife, Jan, of LaSalle, IL; by her grandchildren, Jason Hagedorn and wife, Nicole, of St. Peters, MO, Mandy Day and husband, Andy, of Crestwood, MO, Clara Hagedorn of Washington, MO, Connor, Matthew and Anna Austell, all of Lee's Summit, MO, Tyler and Logan Janes, both of Lonedell, MO; by two great-grandchildren, Stella and Sofia Hagedorn, both of St. Peters, MO; by nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, Luke and Willetta Vogelgesang; and by her husband, Virgil Hagedorn. Charlotte was a Christian and member of St. Clare Catholic Church in St. Clair, MO. She managed the St. Clare Catholic Cemetery committee, spearheaded parish fish fries, assisted in the dining room and at picnics and was very active at most things concerning the parish. She was a member of Daughters of Isabella St. Clare Circle 1082. During her working career she did in-home day care for twenty-five years, a warehouse supervisor at Sportsman's Supply in St. Clair for twelve years and a dental assistant at Lakebrink Dental for seven years. Charlotte was a physically active person who loved to walk and do embroidery and quilting. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy and caring for them brought her great joy. The many precious memories they created will forever be cherished by them all. A kind and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Funeral mass was held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at St. Clare Catholic Church in St. Clair, MO with Father Bob Knight officiating. Interment was in St. Clare Catholic Cemetery in St. Clair. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Borgia Regional High School or St. Clare Catholic Cemetery.
