OBITUARY Carolyn Sue Landen nee King of Union, MO departed this life in Washington, MO on February 8, 2023, having reached the age of seventy-nine years, ten months and five days. Carolyn was born in St. Clair, MO on April 3 1943, daughter of Elbert William King and Hannah Lena Hayes nee Redhage. As a young woman she was blessed to have six children. Carolyn is survived by her sons, Mike Landen and wife, Sherry, of Winfield, MO, Ronald "Ron" Landen and spouse, Bonnie Ritson, of Washington, MO; by daughters Tara Landen, of Derricks, AR, Dia Welker and husband, Kevin, of Washington, MO, Krista Schlitt and husband, Todd, of Herman, MO and Lisa Temme of Sedalia, MO; by Seventeen grandchildren, Thirteen great-grandchildren; by one sister Hilda Gamble of Washington, MO; by nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert King and Hannah Hayes; by her brothers, Glenn and Charles King and by one sister Mary Jane King. Carolyn was a Christian and member of Bethel Baptist Church in Lonedell, MO. During her working career she was self-employed through her cleaning service in Texas for several years. She was also employed at United Van Lines and would retire from there. Carolyn loved crocheting, embroidering, and playing games on her computer. She also enjoyed cooking big meals and baking for family gatherings and holidays, and joking around with family and friends. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will forever be near to their hearts. A kind and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. A Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, February 15, 2023 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with a Funeral Service at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 14, 2023. A graveside committal will follow at Crestview Memorial Park in St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church or Franklin County Humane Society.
