OBITUARY Carolyn Sue Immekus of St. Clair, MO departed this life at her home on Monday, July 28, 2025 having reached the age of eighty years, eight months and nineteen days. Carolyn was born in Sullivan, MO on November 9, 1944, daughter of Clarence William Melton and Emma Jane Melton nee Lechten. On November 23, 1962 she was united in marriage to Ronald Gilbert Immekus and one son came to bless this union. Carolyn is survived by her son, Brian Immekus of St. Clair, MO; by nieces, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Emma Melton; by her husband, Ronald Immekus; and by her half-sister, Evelyn Melton. Carolyn was a Christian, having been raised in the Baptist faith and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in St. Clair, MO. Going to church was a priority in her life as her regular attendance there was proven. During her working career besides employment at Brown Shoe Company in Union, MO for twelve or thirteen years, Hardee's in St. Clair, MO and at Walmart in Union, MO for over thirty years, she also owned and operated a pet shop. She loved tropical fish and exotic birds, especially her pet Macaw, Pylarah, that is thirty-three years old. Carolyn was a kind and loving mother and treasured friend who will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. A celebration of life will take place 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at Bethel Baptist Church in Lonedell, MO with Rev. Ben Kingston officiating. A private committal will take place at a later date at Midlawn Memorial Gardens in Union, MO. Memorials may be made to the family for funeral expenses. The family was served by Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO.
