Obituary

OBITUARY Carolyn Sue Davis of St. Clair, MO departed this life in Savannah, GA on Monday, June 19, 2023, having reached the age of seventy-three years, seven months and four days. Carolyn was born in Elk Creek, MO on November 15, 1949, daughter of Henry Elliott and Helen Elliott nee Noirfalise. On June 5, 1976 she was united in marriage to Andy Ray Davis and two daughters came to bless this union. Carolyn is survived by her daughters, Summer Rae Rogers and husband, Adam, of Savannah, GA and Amanda Renee Slater and husband, Darin, of St. Clair, MO; by her brothers, Harold Dean Elliott and wife, Kaye, John Elliott and wife, Sharon, both of the state of CO, and Jerry Elliott and wife, Lynda of the state of AR; by one sister, Vera Dickson of Ava, MO; by her brother-in-law, Leny Davis of Joplin, MO; by her grandchildren, Chloe, Zechariah, Silas, Levi, Ezra and Thaddeus; by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Helen Elliott; by her husband, Andy Davis; and by two sisters, Eula Jean England and Gladys Nadean Anderson. Carolyn was a Christian of the Baptist faith and member of Bethel Baptist Church in Lonedell, MO, where she enjoyed doing things with her church family. For most of her working career she was employed in the Yellow Pages advertising department of Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, now known as AT&T. She was a lifetime Girl Scout, enjoyed making cards for all occasions and going to the beach. Her daughters and grandchildren were her pride and joy and she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will be cherished by them all forever. A kind and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Rev. Ben Kingston officiating. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery in Lonedell, MO. Memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund.
