OBITUARY Carol Susan Moran of St. Clair, MO departed this life at her home, surrounded by the love of her family, on march 27, 2023, having reached the age of sixty-seven years, six months and four days. Carol was born in Jefferson City, MO on September 23, 1955, daughter of Brantley Alonzo Tate and Barbara Ellendor Tate nee Nash. As a young woman she was blessed to have one daughter. Carol is survived by her daughter, Kristy Tate; by one brother, R. Joseph DeClue, Sr.; by her brother-in-law. Johnnie Benton, Sr.; by two very special favorite great-nieces, Ashley and Kendra Petzold; by two very special great-great-nephews, Gracen and Jackson Petzold; by her very cherished gentleman friend, Juan Medel Garcia, known to all as Chango; by her two best friends, Sherry Yocom and Mary Deaton; by cousins and many other relatives and friends. She joined in heaven her parents, Brandley and Barbara Tate; her siblings, Beulah Merseal, Murial Ellen DeClue, David Arthur DeClue, Mary Ann Lucas, Betty Jane Stanley, Mikel DeClue, Bennett DeClue and Grace Benton; and by her very special nephew, Charles Edward DeClue. Before her retirement in 2018, she was employed by Rival Manufacturing, Banquet Foods, Pizza Shack, St. Clair Die Casting and Walmart. Carol had a variety of interests and past times throughout her life including watching Disney movies, collecting frog trinkets and tending to her flowers. She was very much an outdoors person who would share her love of adventures on long walks through the woods where she had grown up, with her daughter, nieces and nephews. They would collect rocks and arrowheads, pick blackberries and fish, all the while her telling stories of her childhood days. She was a very strong willed and independent woman who maintained her independence throughout her life. Carol enjoyed every moment of her time with her daughter, her family and her friends. She had an abundant amount of love for her daughter and spent every possible moment with her. Carol held a very special place in everyone's heart that she met in life and the laughter, fun times and silliness will always be cherished memories for them all forever. She had stated to her family that she was taking her "orneriness" with her, so each of them would be good to each other and she assured them she would be just fine. Carol and her family would want everyone to know that they are eternally grateful for those of you who were able to care for her as she made her journey to heaven. And a very special thanks to Brother Ben Kingston for his friendship and support. A kind and loving mother, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, companion, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Rev. Ben Kingston officiating.
