Bobby Jewel Hinton of Villa Ridge, MO departed this life in St. Louis, MO on Friday, June 28, 2024, having reached the age of seventy-six years, eleven months and seven days. Bobby was born in Portageville, MO on July 21, 1947, son of Paul Hinton and Lizzie Mae Hinton nee Williams. On October 9, 1967 he was united in marriage to Linda Faye Brown and two daughters came to bless this union. Bobby is survived by his daughters, Paula Harvey and Lisa Hinton; by one sister, Shirley Jean Oberkrom, known to all as Jean, of Bonne Terre, MO; by his grandchildren, Joe and Christopher Hinton and Chase and Danny Harvey; by his nephew, Jeffrey Oberkrom of Villa Ridge, MO; by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Lizzie Hinton; by his wife, Linda Hinton; by his brother, Fred Hinton; and by one sister, Mary Jones. Bobby was a Christian, believing in the Lord as his Savior and had been attending Roots Church in St. Clair, MO. During his working career he was a supervisor for Mid-American Fiber for over thirty years. His interest in guns peaked when he became a sharpshooter in the army and lead him to belong to a local gun club. Bobby loved to go fishing, hunting and traveling. What meant most to him was time spent with family. The love and fellowship they shared and many precious memories they created will be cherished by them all forever. A kind and loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Friday, July 5, 2024 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, July 5, 2024 at the funeral home with Pastor Charles Keith officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Villa Ridge, MO. Memorials may be made to Roots Church in St. Clair, MO.
