Billy Adam Howard, known to all as Bill, of Union, MO, formerly St. Clair, MO, departed this life at his home on August 11, 2021, having reached the age of eighty-nine years and three days. Bill was born in St. Clair on August 8, 1932, son of Harvey Lee Howard and Laura Estelle Howard nee Ritchey. On August 21, 1953, he was united in marriage to Betty Jean Seamon and two daughters came to bless this union. Bill is survived by his wife, Betty Howard of Union, MO; by his daughters, Diana Downard and husband, Jonathan, of Union and Trisha Partney of St. Louis, MO; by six grandchildren, Nicole Martinez and husband, Daniel, of Valley Park, MO, Amber Taylor and husband, Jason, of Ballwin, MO, Jessica Norsic and husband, Jason, of Webster Groves, MO, Dustin Partney and wife, Danielle, of Chesterfield, MO, Amanda White and husband, Justin, of Marshfield, MO, and Leah Kubala and husband, Clint, of Ozark, MO; by twelve great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Laura Howard; by four siblings, Ralph Howard, Bobby Lee Howard, Velma McMullin and June Howard, and by one great-granddaughter, Natalie Marie White. Bill was a devoted Christian and lifelong member of Green Mound Baptist Church in St. Clair, MO. For many years, he served on the Green Mound Cemetery Board and served as the sexton of the cemetery. Bill began his working career at the age of sixteen, going to work for Main Line Trucking, Inc. in St. Clair, which was founded by his father. He served the company in many capacities in his younger years, but was soon working as the Vice President, retiring after fifty-eight years of service to the company. He enjoyed many hobbies and interests during his life, but especially enjoyed horse back riding. He was an avid reader and liked to read and study history and genealogy and ancestry. Bill loved aviation and was proud to be a pilot, flying planes out of St. Clair Airport. In more recent years, he enjoyed traveling with Betty and his family. Bill's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, were truly his pride and joy and he cherished the time they shared. A devoted and loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, great and great-great-uncle, cousin and friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 16, 2021, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with the Rev. Timothy Brown officiating.
