OBITUARY Betty Ellen Stough of Union, MO departed this life in Union, MO on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, having reached the age of ninety-one years, seven months and one day. Betty was born in Wrightsville, PA on September 22, 1932, daughter of Clarence Horn and Mary Horn nee Clinton. On November 28, 1981 she was united in marriage to William Kirby Stough. Betty is survived by her step-son, William H. Stough and wife, Scarlette; by her step-daughter, Shirley; by her grandson, Ryan Stough and wife, Lisa; by several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Mary Horn; by her husband, William K. Stough. Betty was a Christian and believed in the Lord as her Savior. During her working career she was employed as a clerk for Safeco Insurance Company, retiring after many years of service to the company. She had a variety of interests throughout her life. Betty at one time obtained her pilots license, loved to travel and also lived in Switzerland for several years. She enjoyed listening to music, singing and playing the piano. Betty also enjoyed making jewelry and riding around to see the sights. What meant most to her was time spent with her family. The love they shared and many precious memories they created together will be cherished by them all forever. A kind and loving step-mother, step-grandmother, step-great-grandmother, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Betty will be laid to rest Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Memorials may be made to Agape House in St. Clair, MO.
