OBITUARY Betty Jo Parks of St. Clair, MO departed this life in Fenton, MO on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, having reached the age of eighty-seven years, two months and twenty-five days. Betty was born in Kirkwood, MO on January 24, 1936, daughter of William Henry Adams, Sr. and Stella Mae Adams nee Bell. On December 26, 1958 she was united in marriage to Rolla Gale Parks and four children came to bless this union. Betty is survived by her children, Sharon mayberry of Bismark, MO, Johnnie Parks and wife, Darlene, of Warrenton, MO, Linda Lakebrink and husband, Andrew, of Union, MO and Scott Parks and wife, Rhonda, of Glencoe, MO; by one sister, Dorothy Pemberton and husband, Riley, of Gray Summit, MO; by ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, William, Sr. and Stella Adams; by her husband, Rolla Parks; by her son-in-law, Dennis Mayberry; by her brothers, William Adams, Jr., Paul Adams, Millard Adams and James "Eugene" Adams; and by two sisters, Pauline Adams and Mildred Aycock. Betty was a Christian and member of Green Mound Baptist Church in St. Clair, MO. During her working career she was employed as a cook for the Mideast Area Agency on Aging for over thirty years. She was always willing to volunteer her time to help others and after her retirement she helped with the Union, MO and Sullivan, MO Senior Centers. Betty loved to play bingo and play cards, especially rummy. She enjoyed long car rides in the country, going to "hoot-n-nannies" and listening to gospel music. What meant most to her was time spent with family. The love they shared and the very many precious memories they created will be cherished by them all forever. A kind and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Rev. Lindell Vawter officiating. Interment will be in Anaconda Community Cemetery in St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to Green Mound Baptist Church or The Senior Center in Union or Sullivan.
