OBITUARY

Betty Claudette Gaugh of Union, MO departed this life at her home, on Thursday, September 17, 2026, having reached the age of ninety-one years, four months and thirty days. Betty was born in Union, MO on April 18, 1935, daughter of Claude Chesley Willson and Ruth Inez Willson nee Farrar. On October 10, 1953 she was united in marriage to Melvin Jackie Gaugh and two children came to bless this union of seventy years.

Betty is survived by her children, Rob Gaugh and wife, Patricia, of Eureka, MO and Rhonda Stuckwish of St. Louis, MO; by her sister-in-law, Judy Gaugh; by her grandchildren, Adam Gaugh, Charles Gaugh, Daniel Stuckwish, Emily Stuckwish, Kate Stuckwish and husband, Cody Hover and Nicholas Stuckwish and wife, Maddy; by her great-grandchildren, Nora Stuckwish and Wilson Stuckwish; by nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Ruth Willson; by her husband, Melvin Gaugh; and by her son-in-law, Mark Stuckwish.

Betty was a Christian and was a member of The Ridge Church in Villa Ridge, MO. During her working career she was employed as a secretary for both the Rockwood School District in St. Louis County for a little over twenty years as well as the Special School District in St. Louis, MO from 1989-1995. She loved playing cards with her friends on Thursdays, riding her Sea Doo on Bull Shoals Lake and baking for the family. Betty had a beautiful voice and loved to sing at weddings, as well as at church. What meant most to her was time spent with family and friends. The love and fellowship they enjoyed together will forever by cherished by them all.

A kind and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 26, 2026 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Rev. Roger Johnson officiating. A private committal will take place at a later date at Midlawn Memorial Gardens in Union, MO. Memorials may be made to The Ridge Church in Villa Ridge, MO for their El Salvador Mission.
