OBITUARY Barbara Jane Sneed of Robertsville, MO departed this life at her home, surrounded by the love of her family, on August 21, 2022, having reached the age of seventy-one years and twenty days. Barbara was born in Essex, MO on August 1, 1951, daughter of Agnes Elnora Hill nee Jett. On September 14, 1969 she was united in marriage to Larry David Tarkington, Sr. and two children came to bless this union. On November 7, 2007 she was united in marriage to Perry Dwayne Sneed. Barbara is survived by her husband, Perry Sneed ; by her children, Janet Leigh Miller and husband, Lenn and Larry David Tarkington, Jr. and wife, Stacey; by three brothers, Verlon Joseph Hill, Edgar D. Hill and John Allen Hill; by two sisters, Mary Agnes Davis and husband, Jerry and Cynthia Maureen York; by six grandchildren, David Cole Tarkington, Whitney Taylor Miller, Jacee Camryn Tarkington, Ryan Connor Miller, Jesse Wayne Tarkington and Jack Colton Tarkington; by brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Barbara was preceded in death by her mother, Agnes Hill; by her first husband, Larry Tarkington, Sr.; by three brothers and one sister. Barbara was a Christian and believed in the Lord as her Savior. During her working career she worked as a home assistant at various companies in the home health care industry, helping folks with their tasks at home. She was an artist who enjoyed drawing and doing illustrations and various other arts and crafts. Barbara loved to cook, was an avid reader and enjoyed working in her flower garden. She also loved doing macrame, making quilts and sewing, even making her daughter's wedding dress. What meant most to her was time spent with family. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will be cherished forever by them all. A kind and loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Michael Pierce officiating. Interment will be in Crestview Memorial Park in St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to the Agape Thrift Store in St. Clair, MO.
