Obituary

OBITUARY Anthony Camillus DeMoor of Lonedell, MO departed this life in Washington, MO on Saturday, December 9, 2023, having reached the age of seventy-seven years, one month and twenty-nine days. Anthony was born in St. Louis, MO on October 10, 1946, son of Francis Ferdinand DeMoor and Violette Margaret DeMoor nee Wheking. On November 27, 1971 he was united in marriage to Ellen Kay Pursley and three children came to bless this union. Anthony is survived by his wife, Ellen Kay DeMoor of Lonedell, MO; by his children, Kayse Rosson and husband, Richard Detert, of Union, MO, Margie DeMoor of Cuba, MO and Anthony Paul DeMoor and wife, Kari, of Union, MO; by his brother, Joseph DeMoor and wife, Therse, of St. Louis, MO; by two sisters, Mary Therse DeMoor of O'Fallon, MO and Mary Louise Vasquez of Panama City, FL; by five grandchildren, Kris Rosson, Cody Jones, Shelby Jones, Wyatt Wright and AlaynaKay DeMoor; by three great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Anthony was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Violette DeMoor; by three brothers, Charles, Paul and Lawrence DeMoor; by two sisters, Mary Frances Allen and Mary Ann DeMoor; and by one granddaughter, Angelmarie DeMoor. Anthony was a Christian of the Catholic faith and member of St. Clare Catholic Church in St. Clair, MO. He was proud to have served his country in the United States Navy from 1964 to 1967. During his working career he was employed by Daimler Chrysler Corporation as a welder and repairman, retiring after serving the company for about thirty-one years. He was also a proud member of American Legion Post 347, VFW Post 2482 as well as the Knights of Columbus. Anthony enjoyed going hunting, playing poker and going to the casino. He also enjoyed watching football and baseball on television and collecting guns. What meant most to him was time spent with family. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will forever be cherished by them all. A kind and loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great and great-great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, December 15, 2023 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Father Eric Kunz officiating. Interment with full military honors will be in Luebbering Citizens Community Cemetery in Luebbering, MO. Memorials may be made to American Legion Post 347 or VFW Post 2482.
