OBITUARY Anna Frances Cannon of Ironton, MO departed this life in Ironton, MO on Saturday, April 5, 2025, having reached the age of eighty-nine years, three months and fourteen days. Anna was born in Smith Mills, KY on December 22, 1935, daughter of Walter Thomas and Lucille Francis Thomas nee Wright. In Galconda, IL on October 11, 1952 she was united in marriage to Robert Edwin Cannon and seven children came to bless this union. Anna is survived by two sons, Larry Cannon of Sullivan, MO and David Cannon of Sullivan, MO; by three daughters, Marsha Bell and husband, Kenneth, of St. Clair, MO, Beverly Armstrong and husband, Ronald, of Sullivan, MO ad Lisa Bennett and husband, George, of Rolla, MO; by her brother, James Thomas of Leasburg, MO; by two sisters, Mary Shriver of Luebbering, MO and Phillis Chilton of Imperial, MO; by many grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, by many great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Anna was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Lucille Thomas; by her husband, Robert Cannon; by one son, Rodney Cannon; by one daughter, Debra Rodarte; and by one sister, Sharon Cravens. Anna was a Christian and member of Crossroads Baptist Church in Leasburg, MO. Being active in the church she had in the past served as treasurer and Sunday School teacher. She was a previous member of LAMB, the Leasburg Area Ministerial Benevolence. Anna enjoyed doing crochet, crossword puzzles, coloring and painting. She also enjoyed using her green thumb to plant and tend to her flower garden. What meant most to her was time spent with family. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will be forever held dear in their hearts. A kind and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great and great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services were held at 12:00 PM Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Pastor Lane Allen officiating. Interment will be in Fairview United Methodist Cemetery in Grubville, MO. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
