OBITUARY Amelia Kathleen Whited of St. Clair, MO departed this life in St. Clair on Sunday, June 11, 2023, having reached the age of eighty-nine years, one month and eight days. Amelia was born in Ironton, MO on May 3, 1944, daughter of Enoch Boger Inman and Melissa Orlean Inman nee Smith. On August 11, 1962 she was united in marriage to Robert Paul Whited, Sr. and four sons came to bless this union. Amelia is survived by her sons, Robert Whited, Jr. and wife, Melanie, of Washington, MO, Frank Whited and wife, Becky, of St. Clair, MO, Don Whited and wife, Mary, of St. Clair, MO and Eddie Whited and wife, Lisa, of St. Clair, MO; by two sisters, Martha Whited of St. Clair, MO and Rosie McCelland of Jonesburg, AR; by ten grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Amelia was preceded in death by her father, Enoch Inman; by her mother, Melissa Orleans Inman Hazlett; by her husband, Robert Whited, Sr.; by her daughter-in-law, Theresa Whited; by her brothers, Enoch Inman and Ernest Inman; and by four sisters, Margaret Buman, Camilla Tucker, Evelyn Vance and Erma Keiling. Amelia was a Christian and member of Duly Baptist Church in St. Clair, MO from 1972 to 2022, where she was a member of the Women's Missionary Union, song leader, accountant and treasurer. During her working career she was employed as a cook for the A&W, Pizza Shack and Coach's Restaurant, all in St. Clair, MO. She had also worked at Brown Shoe Company in St. Clair, MO in her younger years and the Cozy Corner Cafe, where she met Elvis Presley. Amelia was a talented seamstress and loved travelling to CA to visit family. She also loved going fishing and camping. Her family meant to most to her and she loved to help and do things for her family and friends. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will be cherished by them all forever. A kind and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Rev. David Godat officiating. Interment will be in Crestview Memorial Park in St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to St. Clair Nursing Center.
