Lourine Helen Mitchell

November 24, 1932 - January 21, 2022

OBITUARY Lourine Helen Mitchell of St. Clair, MO, departed this life in Washington, MO on January 21, 2022, having reached the age of eighty-nine years, one month and twenty-eight days. Lourine was born in St. Louis, MO, on November 24, 1932, daughter of Harold James Mitchell and Florence Dolly Mitchell nee Miner. Lourine is survived by her sister, Darlene Pendleton and husband, Ronald, of O’Fallon, MO; by four nephews, Lance Pendleton and wife, Carren, of St. Charles, MO, Curtis Pendleton of O’Fallon, Leland Bunch of St. Louis and Phillip Bunch of St. Louis, by two nieces, Linda Bunch of Texas and Kelley Pendleton of St. Charles; by great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Lourine was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Florence Mitchell; by one brother, Jesse Mitchell; by one sister, Agnes Travis; and by one nephew, Kevin Pendleton. Lourine was a Christian and member of St. Clair Southern Baptist Church. As a young woman she had worked for Frazier Shoe Company in Union, MO and had done in home babysitting as needed for families around the area. Later in life she had worked with an in-home help company that was based out of St. Louis but would send her all over to assist people in their homes with groceries, cooking, cleaning and many other chores. In her younger years Lourine enjoyed going to carnivals with her neighborhood friends. As she got older, she found a passion for crocheting and had even won first place in the state fair. She also enjoyed spending time at the St. Clair Senior Center with friends. Her family was what meant most to her and they held a very special place in her heart. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will forever live on his heart. A kind and loving sister, aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with Rev. Bill Savage officiating. Interment was in the United Methodist Cemetery, St. Clair, MO.
