Clara Mae Nevills of Union, MO, departed this life in Washington, MO, on August 24, 2021, having reached the age of fifty-four years, four months and eleven days. Clara was born in Sullivan, MO, on April 13, 1967, daughter of Kenneth Leroy Johnson, Sr. and Shirley Jean Johnson nee Brake. On June 3, 1989, she was united in marriage to Marvin Eugene Nevills and two children came to bless this union. Clara is survived by her daughter, Brandi Wells and husband, John, Sr., of Sullivan, MO; by her son, Jacob Nevills of Union, MO; by her parents-in-law, Marvin R. Nevills and companion, Phyllis Foster, of Licking, MO, and Mary Nevills, of Union; by her grandfather-in-law, Carl Nevills of Licking; by her grandson, John T. Wells, Jr., known to all as J.T,of St. Clair, MO; by two brothers, Ray DeClue of Union and George Reed and wife, Cynthia, of Union; by her sisters, Roxanna Kloppenberg and husband, David, of Union and Rochelle Fangers of Union; by brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Clara was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth, Sr. and Shirley Johnson; by her husband, Marvin Nevills, and by one brother, Kenneth Johnson, Jr. Clara was a Christian and member of The Pentecostals of St. Louis in Eureka, MO. As a young woman, she was employed at a Texaco gas station in Union, MO as a cashier. She enjoyed watching movies, especially scary ones, and her favorite television show was Supernatural. Clara also enjoyed watching wrestling. She loved making fudge for Christmas and her family thought she made the best beef stroganoff. Clara also loved animals in general, especially her cat Weezy and dog General, and also enjoyed watching and feeding the birds. She was a very kind and generous person who would do anything for others. What meant most to her was time spent with family. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will be cherished by them all forever. A kind and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, daughter-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 29, 2021 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Pastor David Walker officiating. Interment was in Virginia Mines Cemetery in Lonedell, MO. Memorials may be made to the family.
