Bethany Renee Metts nee Bondie

August 13, 1954 - April 6, 2022

OBITUARY Bethany Renee Metts, known to all as Beth, of Sullivan, MO departed this life in Washington, MO on April 6, 2022, having reached the age of sixty-seven years, seven months and twenty-four days. Bethany was born in Wichita, KS on August 13, 1954, daughter of Royal John Bondie, Jr. and Patricia Joyce Bondie nee Simmers. As a young woman she was united in marriage and blessed to have one son. On December 11, 1983 she was united in marriage to Ronald Dean Metts, known to all as Ron, and their families were joined as one. Beth is survived by her husband, Ron Metts of Sullivan, MO; by her son, Jason Bense of Fredericktown, MO; by her daughter, Rhonda Messex and husband, Josh, of Richwoods, MO; by two sisters, Diane Stagg and husband, Jim, of Fairview Heights, IL and Susan Bloomfield and husband, Mark, of Barnhart, MO; by six grandchildren, Kaitlyn Sansoucie and husband, Kyle, of St. Clair, MO, Jordan Metts and fiancé, Marissa Martin, of St. Clair, MO, Tanner Martin and girlfriend, ReAnna Nickels, of Richwoods, MO, Taylor Metts and boyfriend, Ryan Valentine, of St. Clair, MO, Alli Messex and Maycie Messex, both of Richwoods, MO; by five great-grandchildren, Bohen, Kamdyn, Harper, Brailee and Maverick; by one brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Beth was preceded in death by her parents, Royal and Patricia Bondie; by her son, Jody Metts; and by one sister, Marsha Bondie. Beth was a Christian, having been raised in the Catholic faith and believing in the Lord as her Savior. During her working career she was employed as a medical aide by various in-home health care companies and nursing homes in the area. Beth was also a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed doing family genealogy, pencil sketching and playing the organ and piano. Beth loved animals and caring for her flower garden. She also loved to bake for the family and watch a variety of shows on television. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she cherished the time spent with them. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will forever live on in their hearts. A kind and loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Monday, April 11, 2022 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Deacon Josh Schroeder officiating. Interment was in Crestview Memorial Park in St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
