Willma Jean Britton nee Berry

OBITUARY Willma Jean Britton of St. Peters, MO departed this life in Bridgeton, MO on Friday, March 24, 2023, having reached the age of eighty-eight years, three months and one day. Willma was born at home in Rector, AR on December 23, 1934, daughter of Thomas William Berry and Ruth Myrtle Berry nee Hogeland. On October 10, 1968 she was united in marriage to David Aaron Britton. Willma is survived by her sons, Barry Nelson Britton of St. Peters, MO. Jerry Lyn Britton and significant other, Angelia Doyle, of Newberg, MO, Donald Lee Britton and wife, Valerie, of Fulton, MO and James David Britton and wife, Yadan He, of Chesterfield, MO; by two sisters, Louise Redden of Festus, MO and Rida Atchison of St. Clair, MO; by her grandchildren, Jason Britton and wife, Lisa, Ryan Britton, Angela Renner and husband, Michael, Renee Thornton and husband, William, Brandie Tharp and husband, Landen, Ashley Beale and husband, Joseph, Chelsey Flynn and husband, Eric, and Patrick Britton and wife, Emma; by fifteen great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Willma was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Ruth Berry; by her husband, David Britton; by her brother, Vernie Berry; by three sisters, Mary Graham, Estelline Berry and Katie Parrish; and by her daughter-in-law, Pamela Sue Britton. During her working career she was a beautician by trade and owned and operated Willma’s Beauty Salon in St. Peters, MO for over fifteen years. She enjoyed going bowling, fishing, camping and working in her flower garden. Willma also enjoyed sewing, doing crochet and ceramics. What meant most to her was time spent with family. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will forever be cherished by them all. A kind and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Pastor Laura Mignerone officiating. Interment will be in Anaconda Community Cemetery in St. Clair, MO.
