Martha Orlean Whited nee Inman

OBITUARY Martha Orlean Burkett of St. Clair MO departed this life in Washington MO on Sunday, April 20, 2025, having reached the age of seventy-nine years and twenty-nine days. Martha was born in Ironton, MO on March 22, 1946, daughter of Enoch Boge Inman, Sr. and Melissa Orlean Inman nee Smith. On March 30, 1963 she was united in marriage to Robert Edward Whited, known to all as Andy, in Ironton, MO and blessed to have two children. Martha is survived by her sons, Robert “Bud” whited and wife, Laura, of St. Clair, MO and Anthony Whited of St. Clair, MO; by one sister, Ethel “Rose” McClelland of Jonesburg, AR; by her grandchildren, Christopher Walther and wife, Jade, heather Whited, Dylan Whited and Noah Whited; by her five great-grandchildren; by brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Martha was preceded in death by her parents. Enoch and Melissa Inman; by her husband, Robert Whited; by her brothers, Enoch B. Whited, Jr., Ernest Inman and Paul Inman; and by six sisters, Amelia Whited, Evelyn Vance, Camilla Tucker, Erma Keiling, Margaret Buman and Myrtle Inman. Martha was a Christian and had been attending Duly Baptist Church in St. Clair, MO. During her working career she had been employed as a cook for Kids Village and Pizza Shack, but spent most of her life devoted to caring for her home and family. Martha enjoyed spending time outdoors, taking care of her chickens and caring for her garden. She also enjoyed riding four wheelers, going camping and fishing. She was a very caring and giving person that would take care of or help anyone she could. Her children and grandchildren held a very special place in her heart, as she did in theirs. The love they shared and many precious memories they created together will be cherished by them all forever. A kind and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Rev. David Godat officiating. Interment will be in Crestview Memorial Park in St. Clair, MO.
