Ellen Marie Estes nee Light

OBITUARY Ellen Marie Estes of House Springs, MO departed this life in Fenton, MO on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, having reached the age of eighty-four years and nine months. Ellen was born in St. Clair, MO on November 15, 1938, daughter of Roscoe Roy Light and Wilma Lucille Light nee Hansel. As a young woman she was united in marriage and blessed to have four children. On March 6, 1976 she was united in marriage to Frederick William Estes, known to all as Butch. Ellen is survived by her husband, Butch Estes of House Springs, MO; by her children, Tamara Dopirak of Las Vegas, NV, Kevin Lee of Cedar Hill, MO, Patty Jones and significant other, Bill Sullivan, of Ballwin, MO and Jasone Lee and wife, Kristi, of Cedar Hill, MO; by two sisters, Kathy “Kate” Sharp and husband, Ken Craden, of Sullivan, MO and Ruth “Annie” Richardson and husband, Mark, of St. Clair, MO; by her brother-in-law, Jesse Estes of High Ridge, MO; by her sister-in-law, Shirley Marshal of Overland, MO; by twelve grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe and Wilma Light; by her brothers, Edward Light, Kenneth Light and Carl Light; and by three sisters, Mary “Agnes” Osseck, Dorothy “Dotty” Lowe and Sheryl “Sherry” Erbes. Ellen was a Christian and member of House Springs Baptist Church in House Springs, MO. She made caring for her home and family her job in life and never tired of it. She loved going to church, fishing and drawing. Going out to eat was one of her favorite things to do and she especially loved French onion soup. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy and she cherished the time spent with them. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will forever live on in their hearts. A kind and loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Visitation for Ellen will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with the funeral services following at 1:00 PM Tuesday, August 22, 2023 with Pastor Brad Adams officiating. Interment will be in Crestview Memorial Park in St. Clair, MO.
