Obituary
Edgar John Bolte of Gerald, MO, formerly Fenton, MO, departed this life in Washington, MO on October 3, 2009, having reached the age of eighty-four years, eleven months and five days. Edgar was born in Valley Park, MO on October 28, 1924, son of Frank Joseph Bolte and Zita Bolte nee Selz. On June 9, 1951, he was united in marriage to Beverly Ann Reid and two sons came to bless this union.

Edgar is survived by his wife, Beverly Bolte of Gerald, MO; by two sons, Bruce Bolte and wife, Sherry, of St. Clair and Kris Bolte and wife, Kathy, of Gerald; by three grandchildren, Shane Akers and wife, Shannon, of Bourbon, MO, Jessica Bolte of Gerald and Jonathan Bolte and fiancée Sarah VanBuskirk, of Beaufort, MO; by two great grandchildren, Cody Woolfe of Union, MO and Garrett Akers of Bourbon; by brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Edgar was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Zita Bolte; by nine brothers, Leo, Louis, Gregory, Walter, Henry, Fredrick, Lawrence, Raymond and Richard Bolte; and by three sisters, Helen Thousand, Josephine Bolte and Agnes Kutheis.

Edgar was a Christian of the Catholic faith. He was proud to have served his country during World War II in the United States Navy, entering May 13, 1943 and receiving his honorable discharge on February 19, 1946. Edgar was a talented carpenter by trade and for about twenty years, owned and operated Custom Design Kitchens in Fenton, MO where he built custom kitchen cabinets. After retiring and moving to Gerald, he enjoyed raising cattle and cutting hay. Hunting was another of his favorite pastimes. Above all else, spending time with his family gave him great joy and the love and wonderful memories created will be treasured by them all.

A devoted and loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, great and great-great-uncle, cousin and friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Graveside services with full military honors were held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. The Bolte family was served by Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair, MO.
