OBITUARY Sammy Dean Robbins, Sr. of St. Clair, MO, departed this life in Washington, MO on January 20, 2011, having reached the age of sixty-seven years, ten months and eight days. Sammy was born in Gadsden, TN on March 12, 1943, son of Jim Robbins and Mary Odell Robbins nee Kurkendyall. On June 15, 1978, he was united in marriage to Sharry Louise Terry and he was blessed to have seven children.

Sammy is survived by his wife, Sharry Robbins of St. Clair; by one son, Sammy D. Robbins, Jr. and girl friend, Tina McKenna, of Union, MO; by three daughters, Teri A. Cannan and husband, Donnie, LaPorte, IN, Samantha Steever and husband, Mike, of St. Clair and Sabrina Robbins of St. Clair; by his mother-in-law, Joan Terry of Pacific, MO; by two brothers, Jimmy Robbins, known to most as Junior, and wife, Margie, of Arnold, MO, and Danny Robbins and wife, Janice, of Michigan City, IN; by three sisters, Doris Ludwig of Michigan City, Shirley Nethery of Phoenix AZ and Helen Ungerank and husband, Ernest, of LaPorte; by seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, one sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Sammy was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Mary Robbins; by two sons, Richard and John Robbins; by one daughter, Tammy Robbins; by one grandchild, Brandie Robbins; by four brothers, Gerald, Darryl, Larry and Bobby Robbins; and by one sister, Virginia Robbins.

Sammy was a master mechanic by trade and had been employed for about thirty years at Con Agra Foods in Affton, MO. He was a great auto mechanic as well and loved working on cars. Hunting and fishing were other favorite pastimes, as was listening to country music. Sammy was a family man and nothing made him happier than when he and Sharry were spending time with their children and grandchildren.

A kind and loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great and great-great-uncle, cousin and friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair with the Rev. Jim Rice officiating. Interment was in Brush Creek Cemetery in Gray Summit, MO. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
