OBITUARY

Debra Linn Hooks of St. Louis, MO, formerly of St. Clair, MO, departed this life in St. Louis on November 26, 2018, having reached the age of fifty-seven years, two months and twenty-one days. Debra was born in Mexico, MO on September 5, 1961, daughter of Isaac Samuel Davis, known to all as Sam, and Lela Goldie Davis nee Brandenburg. On June 19, 1982, she was united in marriage to Clinton Ray Hooks and three children came to bless this union.

Debra is survived by her husband, Clinton Hooks of St. Louis, MO; by her son, Joshua Hooks of Arnold, MO; by her daughters, Brigitte Hooks of St. Louis and Amanda Hatfield and husband, Andrew, of St. Clair, MO; by her step-mother, Frances Davis, known to all as Jane, of St. Clair; by her father-in-law, Ray Hooks of Cuba, MO; by her sisters, Victoria Lovejoy of Cedar Park, TX, Vannessa Griggs, known to all as Jackie, and husband, Louis, of St. Peters, MO and Melody Wishnask and husband, Mark, of St. Clair; by her step-siblings, Charlotte Chandler and husband, Carl, of Kansas City, MO, Charles Gastler, known to all as Chuck, and wife, Glenda, of Eureka, MO and Jason Gastler and wife, Gina, of Hazel Green, AL; by brothers and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Debra was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Lela Davis, know to most as Goldie, and by her mother-in-law, Bonda Hooks Kamper.

Debra was a Christian and enjoyed visiting Bethel Baptist Church in Lonedell, MO. During her working career she was employed as a manager in the retail sales industry. She had an interest in art and enjoyed doing oil paintings. Playing board games with her family was always a lot of fun. Her favorite pastime in recent years was doing jigsaw puzzles and word search puzzles. Debra especially loved cooking for and taking care of her family, as well as the time they spent together traveling. The time and love they shared together and many precious memories they created will forever live in their hearts.

A devoted and loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, step-daughter, daughter-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, step-sister, niece, aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM Saturday, December 1, 2018, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with the Rev. Ben Kingston officiating. Interment was in Crestview Memorial Park, St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to the Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research.
